NETGEAR M4250-10G2F-POE+ AV over IP Managed Switch

The NETGEAR M4250-10G2F-POE+ is a professional AV over IP managed switch designed for Audio over IP (AoIP), Video over IP (VoIP) and modern networked AV deployments. Part of NETGEAR’s AV-focused M4250 series, it combines PoE+ connectivity, dedicated AV management tools and enterprise-grade networking capabilities in a compact platform built for professional AV installations.

With 8 x 1G PoE+ ports, a 125W PoE budget, 2 additional 1G Ethernet ports and 2 x 1G SFP fibre uplinks, the switch provides flexible connectivity for professional AV network infrastructure. Its design makes it suitable for corporate AV, education, live events, hospitality, digital signage and other AV over IP environments.

Purpose-Built for Professional AV

The M4250 series is engineered specifically for AV over IP, featuring rear-facing ports that support clean integration into professional AV racks and equipment enclosures. The switch is pre-configured for standard audio and video signals, while the dedicated AV web-based GUI provides access to more advanced configuration options through intuitive colour-based port profiles.

Built-in profiles support leading AV platforms and protocols including Dante, Q-SYS, AES67, AVB, NVX, SVSI and NDI, while also supporting mixed audio, video and control deployments.

AVB support is available via the optional AVB4212P-10000S licence.

Advanced AV Networking

NETGEAR IGMP Plus™ simplifies multicast management and helps streamline switch interconnection within larger AV network infrastructures. The M4250 also uses a common Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching engine across the series, providing support for features including static routing, RIP, PIM, DHCP Server and PTPv2.

The combination of AV-focused functionality and enterprise networking features makes the switch suitable for both dedicated AV networks and environments where AV, IT and control systems operate on the same infrastructure.

Flexible Management for AV and IT Teams

AV professionals and IT administrators can manage the switch through the standard NETGEAR web interface as well as console, Telnet and SSH access. This flexible approach supports management across a wide range of professional AV and enterprise networking environments.

The dedicated AV management interface simplifies deployment by providing AV-specific controls and configuration tools designed around the requirements of professional AV installations.

Professional Audio Video Bridging

The M4250 supports optional Audio Video Bridging (AVB) for applications requiring highly accurate timing and synchronisation between connected devices. AVB is particularly useful in live performances, broadcast environments and professional AV installations where precise timing and synchronised audio and video playback are important.

AVB support requires the AVB4212P-10000S licence, sold separately.

Flexible and Quiet Installation

The compact 1U, 200mm-deep rackmount design features a black front display panel while positioning network ports at the rear for a cleaner installation appearance. Reversible and recessed mounting options allow ports to be positioned at the front when required, while integrated mounting points support deployment outside a rack.

The switch can operate in fanless mode under suitable temperature and PoE conditions. A quiet operating mode produces approximately 27.38dBA at 25°C under the specified 125W PoE load, making the switch suitable for environments where lower noise levels are beneficial.
